{"id":1767,"date":"2025-10-13T08:07:29","date_gmt":"2025-10-13T06:07:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lapatteduloup.fr\/?p=1767"},"modified":"2025-11-16T21:42:27","modified_gmt":"2025-11-16T20:42:27","slug":"myelopathie-degenerative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lapatteduloup.fr\/index.php\/2025\/10\/13\/myelopathie-degenerative\/","title":{"rendered":"My\u00e9lopathie d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rative"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>La <strong>my\u00e9lopathie d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rative<\/strong> (MD, DM en anglais) est une maladie qui entra\u00eene une <strong>paralysie progressive des pattes arri\u00e8re <\/strong>chez le chien avec l&rsquo;\u00e2ge. Elle r\u00e9sulte d&rsquo;une <strong>d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rescence de la moelle \u00e9pini\u00e8re<\/strong>, alt\u00e9rant sa fonction qui d\u00e9bute g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement entre 8 et 14 ans. La cause pr\u00e9cise reste inconnue, bien qu&rsquo;une <strong>origine g\u00e9n\u00e9tique soit suspect\u00e9e<\/strong>, on estime qu&rsquo;elle est multifactorielle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La MD agit d&rsquo;une mani\u00e8re assez similaire \u00e0 la Scl\u00e9rose Lat\u00e9rale Amyotrophique (Maladie de Charcot) chez l&rsquo;Homme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"782\" height=\"782\" src=\"https:\/\/lapatteduloup.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/sommaire-MD.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2009\" style=\"width:351px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lapatteduloup.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/sommaire-MD.jpg 782w, https:\/\/lapatteduloup.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/sommaire-MD-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lapatteduloup.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/sommaire-MD-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/lapatteduloup.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/sommaire-MD-768x768.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 782px) 100vw, 782px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">   Le d\u00e9pistage<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Les sympt\u00f4mes apparaissent de mani\u00e8re insidieuse et \u00e9voluent lentement :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Les <strong>pattes arri\u00e8re <\/strong>sont touch\u00e9es en premier, avec des <strong>difficult\u00e9s \u00e0 marcher <\/strong>(ataxie), une <strong>faiblesse <\/strong>(par\u00e9sie) et des <strong>d\u00e9ficits proprioceptifs <\/strong>(le chien tra\u00eene les pattes ou les griffes, croise les pattes ou adopte une posture anormale). En g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, les deux c\u00f4t\u00e9s sont affect\u00e9s, mais une patte peut \u00eatre plus atteinte. La continence urinaire reste habituellement pr\u00e9serv\u00e9e. La perte musculaire apparait progressivement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>L&rsquo;\u00e9tat s\u2019aggrave g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement de 6 \u00e0 12 mois, ce qui entra\u00eene une paralysie des pattes arri\u00e8res.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Les pattes avant ne sont atteintes qu\u2019\u00e0 un stade tr\u00e8s avanc\u00e9 de la maladie.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>La <strong>my\u00e9lopathie d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rative est indolore<\/strong>, mais elle peut coexister avec d\u2019autres affections, comme une hernie discale, qui peut provoquer des douleurs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Si votre chien montre l&rsquo;un de ces sympt\u00f4mes, consultez un v\u00e9t\u00e9rinaire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aucun test sp\u00e9cifique ne permet de diagnostiquer la my\u00e9lopathie d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rative lorsque les signes cliniques sont pr\u00e9sents. Le diagnostic repose sur l&rsquo;exclusion d&rsquo;autres pathologies. Id\u00e9alement, une IRM est r\u00e9alis\u00e9e pour \u00e9carter d&rsquo;autres atteintes de la moelle \u00e9pini\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un <strong>diagnostic pr\u00e9ventif <\/strong>peut toutefois \u00eatre effectu\u00e9 avant l\u2019apparition des sympt\u00f4mes pour <strong>d\u00e9terminer si le chien est porteur des g\u00e8nes associ\u00e9s \u00e0 la my\u00e9lopathie d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rative<\/strong>.<br>\u00c0 partir d\u2019un simple frottis buccal ou d\u2019une prise de sang envoy\u00e9e en laboratoire, le v\u00e9t\u00e9rinaire r\u00e9alise un test ADN, suivi d\u2019un test MD, qui indique si le chien est homozygote normal (sain), h\u00e9t\u00e9rozygote (porteur sain) ou homozygote mut\u00e9 (atteint).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">   Un test ADN simple \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Un test ADN fiable permet d\u2019identifier les reproducteurs \u00e0 risque, d\u2019adapter les accouplements pour pr\u00e9venir la naissance de chiots atteints et limiter la propagation de la my\u00e9lopathie d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rative dans la race.<br>Chaque <strong>g\u00e8ne SOD1<\/strong> \u00e9tant constitu\u00e9 de deux all\u00e8les (l\u2019un provenant de la m\u00e8re, l\u2019autre du p\u00e8re), ces all\u00e8les, qu\u2019ils soient sains ou mut\u00e9s, peuvent \u00eatre transmis \u00e0 la descendance.<br>Les r\u00e9sultats du test se divisent en trois cat\u00e9gories :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>DM\/DM<\/strong> (homozygote pour la mutation) = <strong>ATTEINT<\/strong> : forte probabilit\u00e9 de d\u00e9velopper les sympt\u00f4mes de la MD et de transmettre le g\u00e8ne mut\u00e9 \u00e0 la descendance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>DM\/N<\/strong> (h\u00e9t\u00e9rozygote pour la mutation) = <strong>PORTEUR<\/strong> : aucun risque de d\u00e9velopper les sympt\u00f4mes, mais possibilit\u00e9 de transmettre le g\u00e8ne mut\u00e9 \u00e0 la descendance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>N\/N<\/strong> (homozygote pour le g\u00e8ne normal) = <strong>SAIN<\/strong> : aucun risque de d\u00e9velopper ou de transmettre la MD.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Si un animal est porteur du g\u00e8ne mut\u00e9, cela n\u2019implique pas n\u00e9cessairement que les sympt\u00f4mes observ\u00e9s sont dus \u00e0 la my\u00e9lopathie d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rative, mais indique qu\u2019il est pr\u00e9dispos\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper la maladie au cours de sa vie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans le cadre de la <strong>reproduction des Altdeutsche Shaferhunde<\/strong>, l\u2019UCFAS impose qu\u2019un d\u00e9pistage soit effectu\u00e9 sur les 2 parents, par test ADN (<a href=\"https:\/\/antagene.com\/chien\/altdeutsche-schaferhunde\" title=\"Antag\u00e8ne \">Antag\u00e8ne <\/a>et <a href=\"https:\/\/shop.embarkvet.com\/products\/embark-for-breeders-dog-dna-test-kit\" title=\"\">Embark <\/a>proposent ce type de test).<br>Dans le but d&rsquo;enrayer et d&rsquo;\u00e9viter le d\u00e9veloppement de cette maladie, <strong>tous les mariages conduisant \u00e0 des chiens atteints sont interdits par l&rsquo;UCFAS<\/strong>, voir d\u2019\u00e9levage de l\u2019UCFAS<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>Dans toutes les races qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9valu\u00e9es, la my\u00e9lopathie d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rative est associ\u00e9e \u00e0 la m\u00eame mutation du g\u00e8ne <strong>SOD1<\/strong>. Mais une seconde mutation du g\u00e8ne <strong>SOD1<\/strong> associ\u00e9e \u00e0 la MD a \u00e9t\u00e9 retrouv\u00e9 chez certains <strong>bouviers bernois<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Des traitements inexistants<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c0 ce jour, <strong>aucun traitement curatif de la my\u00e9lopathie d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rative n\u2019existe<\/strong>, malgr\u00e9 diverses tentatives.
